VIDEOS
In the summer of 2006, the U.S.–based nonprofit What Kids Can Do (WKCD) spent a week with students at Awet Secondary School in Kambi ya Simba taking short videos of the village and their school. The video clips, thirteen in all, appear without narration. The sounds—crickets, livestock, a maize grinder, voices, laughter, music—are what you would hear if you were in Kambi ya Simba yourself. The videos of interviews—with the village doctor, students, and teachers— include subtitles.
